Timber is more than just a “behind the scenes” material.
Find out why we think timber can improve your interior design.

It can be easy to take timber for granted when thinking about its use in construction. You’ll typically see it used for a multitude of structural purposes across house building and bigger commercial projects, although it usually gets hidden in the finished article.

But timber is more than just a “behind the scenes” material. The depth and texture it can bring to an interior design can completely transform any space, which is why it is a material that you can easily see feature in some of this year’s biggest design trends.

This year, one of the most dominant trends coming through is natural elements. Simply put, this trend brings in earthy, woodland tones, natural materials and a mixture of textures to create a calming environment. There is no better way to do this than using wood.

Here are some of our tips and product selections to help you bring timber inside.

Interior Wall Cladding

Interior wall cladding can be paired against brightly coloured walls, 70’s Scandi inspired furniture or copper finished accessories to create a breath-taking look.

Our latest product, Provincial Plank, combines grey hues, neutral tones and deep browns to create a varied finished look. Use a wall in your living space to create a statement or as an alternative to tiles in your kitchen.

It’s made from 100% Canadian hardwood, which means the panels will keep their shape and strength over time, unlike softwood alternatives. Additionally, it is the only hardwood wall cladding product currently available in the UK and you can only source it through Snows Timber.

What our customers think...

Peter Heffron, a valued customer, recently installed the product in his bedroom and says “We love the natural finish Provincial Plank added to our bedroom. We’ve been showing everyone, and they all love it as much as we do. It’s an awesome product, and even better, it’s easy to install.”

Exposed wood finishes

Exposed wood finishes on your skirting and architrave is another subtle way to add natural tones. With a variety of profiles to choose from, you can get the right one to complete a modern or traditional style.

Wooden flooring doesn't need to be boring

Timber has been a staple feature in flooring for a long time. You can mix it up by finishing with a simple varnish to enhance its natural characteristics or paint it one of this year's hottest colours, living coral.

There is way more to wood than meets the eye, and Snows has much more to offer than just Carcassing, CLS and PSEs.
