As Demand and Production Planner, you will be working for Snows Timber, a leading National Timber Distributor, as a key part of their inventory management team. You will report directly to the Company Inventory Manager and your responsibilities will include;

  • Taking full ownership of the production planning activities for their Distribution Centre (DC) network
  • Run system generated weekly stock replenishments for the DC network
  • Create and update the Excel production programme for the Mansfield DC
  • Create and release system works orders to the mill ensuring all relevant information is supplied.
  • Establish a robust communication line with the Mansfield Mill Operations team to ensure plans are being reviewed and adhered to
  • Identify the production of raw material requirements for the Mansfield DC
  • Identify yard raw material requirements for the Mansfield DC
  • Liaise with the Quay Stock Co-ordinator to ensure raw material is delivered in time to meet the production plan
  • Check the progress of incoming stock daily with the Mansfield DC Goods-Inwards Operatives
  • Liaise with the Sales Team to review bespoke/special order items to ensure customer requirements are being met
  • Assist with queries regarding any aspect of the production plan
  • Create and analyse sales/stock data in Excel ensuring Inventory is kept at the agreed levels to meet the business needs
  • Liaise with the DC Stock Controllers to assist in the control of aged stock levels for all sites.
  • Provide cover for the Quay Stock Co-Ordinator
  • Ensure procedures are being adhered to
  • Support Company inventory and stocktaking processes

Key Skills and competencies:

  • Confident and experienced in production planning
  • Knowledge of Timber preferred
  • Excellent analytical and Excel skills
  • Experienced in using ERP systems to control the production process
